For many years now, Franco Baggiani has been successfully creating “background soundscapes”. These performances take place in museums, art galleries, temporary exhibits, at times interacting with other artistic disciplines. Sound and extemporaneous compositions are specifically conceived for the chosen setting, architectural or other, and for its semantic content. In other words, they interact programmatically with the surrounding space, which necessarily plays the leading role together with the attendees, who take part in and experience the setting’s “sound”. Photos and videos of some of the many soundscapes recently performed by the Florentine artist are available upon request, such as those held at the Museo Marino Marini in Florence and at the Museum of Modern Art in Castellon de la Plana, Spain.
